'College GameDay' location for Week 1 of the college football season

Back in May, ESPN's "College GameDay" announced its plans for the first two weeks of the 2026 college football season. Of course, many fans weren't paying attention during the middle of the offseason, so we have a reminder on where GameDay will be in Week 1.
To start the 2026 season, GameDay will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the Clemson Tigers at LSU Tigers game on Sept. 5. LSU will host GameDay for the first game of the coach Lane Kiffin era in a clash between the ACC and SEC.
GameDay is not expected to attend any Week 0 game and has already announced the first two shows will be in Week 1 and Week 2. GameDay won't be making the long trip for the North Carolina versus TCU game in Dublin, Ireland, or the NC State versus Virginia game in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in Week 0. It makes sense that GameDay will not attend either game the costly travel and expanded season with a 12-team College Football Playoff.
GameDay chose the Clemson at LSU game over other top Week 1 Saturday games such as Boise State at Oregon, Auburn vs. Baylor, Washington State at Washington and UCLA at California. Other good Week 1 games include Wisconsin versus Notre Dame and Louisville versus Ole Miss on Sunday. SMU plays at Florida State on Monday. However, GameDay usually only attends games that are on Saturdays during the regular season.
The Georgia Bulldogs open the season with Tennessee State in Week 1, so UGA fans can't be upset that Georgia will not have GameDay in town.

- Week 1: Clemson at LSU
- Week 2: Ohio State at Texas
