Tennessee QB Joey Aguilar Announces Career News Amid College Football Season

Joey Aguilar and the No. 20 Tennessee Volunteers are 7-3, with losses to the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners. They’re looking to secure a second straight win, though, playing the Florida Gators in Week 13.
In Aguilar’s first season with the Volunteers, he’s completed 212-of-320 passes for 2,941 yards, 22 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 159.9 passer rating. He’s also rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns on 51 carries.
His production has helped Tennessee reach bowl eligibility for the fifth-straight year. Though chances of a second-straight College Football Playoff appearance are just 1% according to ESPN’s FPI, it’s still been a solid season.
As the quarterback for a team as recognizable as the Volunteers, he has capitalized on several Name, Image and Likeness opportunities. On Thursday just days before playing Florida, Aguilar announced a new NIL partnership with TruGreen.

The senior quarterback cashing in on another partnership isn’t a huge surprise. On3 estimates that Aguilar’s NIL valuation to be at $1 million, which is tied for the 38th highest among college football quarterbacks.
TruGreen isn’t the first brand he’s partnered with, either. Aguilar has previously announced deals with Powerade and Crocs, showing his increasing popularity. This is his final year of eligibility, though, meaning time is running out for him to cash in on more NIL opportunities.
With this exciting new update revealed, though, Aguilar is leading Tennessee into enemy territory against Florida. ESPN BET places the Volunteers as just 4.5-point favorites.
Kickoff is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, airing on ABC.
