The Georgia Bulldogs are just a few weeks away from getting started with a regular season campaign that they hope can get that back on top of the sport where they belong.
Following early exits in each of the last two postseasons as well as not even making the College Football Playoff three years ago, the goal for this team is clear and nothing less will be acceptable. Part of the buildup to any season though is the release of preseason awards and rankings, something which the Dawgs are always going to be a big part of.
After some impressive nominations to some special awards, Georgia has just seen two of its best players on the team nominated for one of the most prestigious awards in college football, and it's the leader of the defense as well as the offense.

The Walter Camp Award is one of the most important in all of college football as the nation's oldest player-of-the-year award. While the Heisman Trophy understandably gets more attention, the Walter Camp is voted on exclusively by head coaches and program administrators, making it decided by those who go up against these players directly.
Stockton has a chance to make a leap in his second year as a starter, but if he were to find himself in a legitimate conversation for the Walter Camp, it would mean he had an absolutely massive season in which he became one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
Robinson meanwhile started to show last season why he was one of the highest rated recruits at corner in school history, and now the time has come for him to become a true household name and superstar. It's a difficult award to win as a defensive player, but if you had to pick one, Robinson may have a better chance than any of his peers in the sport.
The award has only been won by a Bulldog one time, all the way back in 1982 by Herschel Walker. Recent winners have included Heisman winners Fernando Mendoza of Indiana, Travis Hunter of Colorado, and Jayden Daniels of LSU.
If either Stockton or Robinson were to join this illustrious list of names, it would be because they just put up a season that will go down in Georgia history. Time will tell if they can do it, but it's safe to say the two most likely players to make it happen were the ones nominated to the list.
