DeSean Bishop named to Walter Camp Player of the Year Award watch list

Tennessee senior running back DeSean Bishop was named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding player. The award is voted on by 138 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
Bishop is one of 50 players, including nine running backs, on the preseason watch list.
He enters his fourth season at Tennessee in 2026. The senior has appeared in 23 games, including 13 starts, from 2023-25.
Bishop has totaled 1,531 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns on 256 attempts, while recording 16 receptions for 145 yards. The 5-foot-10, 215-pound running back earned a redshirt as a freshman in 2023.
Tennessee will kick off its season on Sept. 5 versus Furman. The season opener is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Neyland Stadium (SEC Network+).
