Ducks edge coach Kamran Araghi recognized on 247Sports 30under30 list

A handful of Oregon Duck players have received prestigious honors this offseason, whether it be positional preseason award watchlists or All-American nods. But the coaching staff has begun to feel the love from on a national level, as head coach Dan Lanning was named the CBS Sports Preseason Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Now, a position coach Kamran Araghi has been recognized as well, as the Ducks' edge coach has been named to 247Sports' 30under30 list. It's the tenth year since the creation of the annual 30under30 list, with the rising coaching stars in college football being honored.

Recent Oregon staffers to be included are Darrion Daniels and Cutter Leftwich, both of whom departed in the offseason in following Tosh Lupoi to California and Will Stein to Kentucky, respectively. Current Oregon offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer was also named to the list in 2017 and continued to climb the ranks to where he stands now.

It should come as no surprise to see Araghi selected as a 30under30 honoree, as he's also climbed the Oregon coaching ranks in a quick manner. The 28-year-old was added to the Ducks' coaching staff in 2022 as a graduate assistant and defensive analyst before he began working with the edges working under Lupoi, who Araghi says served as a mentor in his coaching development.

Now promoted to overseeing the edges as their primary position coach this offseason, Araghi is tasked with getting the most out of two uber-talented edge defenders in Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti, both viewed as bona-fide NFL draftees in 2027.

If Araghi continues on the trajectory that he's on, he'll be someone to watch in the coming seasons as a defensive coordinator candidate around college football.
