The Northwestern Wildcats have shown the ability to develop and showcase receivers in recent years including Griffin Wilde, who was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List for the nation's best receiver. 

The offseason additions of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and quarterbacks Aidan Chiles and Nicco Marchiol have helped to raise the Wildcats' standing among receivers and tight ends nationwide as a potential destination to play under an NFL caliber play-caller.

On Wednesday an ESPN top 300 player and four-star prospect from the Class of 2027 made the surprising revelation that he has been offered by the Wildcats on social media as reactions were shared. 

Conversation Leads to Wildcats Offer 

Coach David Braun, athletic director Mark Jackson and others within the Wildcats program have been talking about upping the ante in recent weeks leading up to the 2026 college football season, and that focus appears to include the recruiting trail.

The Wildcats have offered Class of 2027 ESPN-ranked four-star wide receiver Darion Moseley of Alabaster, Alabama, according to a post by Moseley on X. 

"All glory to God!!" Moseley wrote.

"After a great conversation with David Braun I am blessed to receive an offer from Northwestern," he added, while tagging Northwestern General Manager of Athletics Christian Sarkisian among others associated with the program.

The update was retweeted by Louie Vaccher, publisher of Wildcat report, who noted that Moseley is a an Arkansas Razorbacks commit. 

"The Cats are making a push to flip him from the Hogs," he added. 

The decision to go after a player who committed to a well known SEC program back in May shows that Braun and his staff aren't afraid of major challenges on the recruiting trail, a good omen as the Wildcats continue to hunt better players for Kelly's national championship winning system. 

Moseley a "Game Changer" 

Moseley has grown an inch and added 15 pounds in recent months. 

He now stands 6-feet tall and weighs 190 pounds according to 247Sports.com, whose Director of Scouting Andrew Irvins called him a "game changer with his football IQ and competitive drive."

If those traits transfer to the college football level, the Alabama native just may remind Wildcats fans of Wilde or other greats who have come through the program including former two-time Big Ten champion D'Wayne Bates. 

The Wildcats have a system in place with Kelly and Braun along with better resources than previous regimes in Evanston. 

The next step will be getting more players of Moseley's caliber to buy in, and it sounds like they have a puncher's chance judging by the latest news on the recruiting trail.
