OXFORD — Florida’s pursuit of Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin has remained consistent, according to a report.

According to a report from Graham Hall of 247Sports, members of the Florida athletic department, including athletic director Scott Stricklin, met on the night of Nov. 20 with Kiffin’s representatives. The meeting was not in Oxford, according to the report.

Kiffin is viewed publicly as the top option in the college football coaching carousel. Both Florida and LSU are in pursuit to hire Kiffin away from Ole Miss.

Kiffin has not discussed his job future, although he confirmed on Nov. 19 that he intends to coach in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 28 (11 a.m., ABC/ESPN). The No. 6 Rebels (10-1, 6-1 SEC) are on an open week before playing at Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6) to close the regular season.

Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter is meeting with Kiffin on Nov. 21, according to reports. The College Football Playoff complicates matters. The Rebels are No. 6 in the latest CFP rankings.
