Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin continues to get plenty of preseason accolades with the unveiling of another college football preseason award watch list on Thursday. The Buckeye signal-caller has already appeared on several All-American teams, as well as the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm preseason watch lists, and now his name is among those on the Davey O'Brien preseason watch list.

The Davey O'Brien Award has been around since 1977, but it was changed to honor the top college football quarterback in 1977 after the death of O'Brien. BYU's Jim McMahon was the first to take home the award, and now Sayin is hoping he is able to be the next Ohio State player to win the award.

Sayin led the nation in completion percentage last season and went to New York as a Heisman finalist as a redshirt freshman. He should be more comfortable and have more command of the offense with plenty of weapons around him this fall, so he has a good chance of having an even more productive season.

Somewhat surprisingly, only one Ohio State quarterback has won the Davey O'Brien Award, and that occurred when Troy Smith was honored after the 2006 season.

Like many other college football postseason awards, the Davey O'Brien Award will be announced during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 11.
