SEC Nation to visit Atlanta for Auburn's season opener vs Baylor

Two of ESPN's premier college football pregame shows will originate from the sites of key SEC games during week one of the 2026 season.

SEC Network has announced that its pregame show, SEC Nation, will broadcast live from Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, Sept. 4, for Auburn football's season-opening matchup against the Baylor Bears at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be the second pregame show to feature an SEC team, joining ESPN's College Gameday, which will originate from Baton Rouge for LSU's opener against Clemson.

The 2026 season marks the 13th season for SEC Nation, which began in 2014, when the show, which puts an SEC spin on the College Gameday format, originated from South Carolina for the Gamecocks' game vs. Texas A&M. Mainstays Paul Finebaum, Roman Harper, and Tim Tebow return to SEC Nation for the 2026 season and will be joined by newcomers Chase Daniel and Marion Crowder, as well as new host Matt Barrie. Week one's show will broadcast live from International Plaza outside Gate 2 of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Since the show's inception, Auburn has hosted SEC Nation 11 times from its home campus, which is fourth-most among SEC teams, behind Alabama (16), Georgia (15), and Tennessee (13). Aside from being the host school 11 times, Auburn has been a featured team 21 times, most recently on Sept. 20, 2025, when the Tigers visited Oklahoma.

SEC Nation's broadcast will be one of three SEC Network shows to originate from Atlanta for Auburn's matchup vs Baylor. The Paul Finebaum Show will kick off the weekend on Friday from 3 until 7 p.m. CT, and Marty and McGee will conclude pregame coverage at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. Auburn's 2026 season gets underway at 2:30 p.m. CT that afternoon, with ABC handling live broadcast coverage of the game.
