Michael Switzer details day in the life of Washington football staff

The world of college football is a grind for everyone involved.

For Washington Huskies offensive line coach Michael Switzer, long fall camp days usually start with him arriving on Montlake anywhere between 5:00 and 5:45 in the morning, and with most practices scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m., there isn't a lot of downtime.

While speaking with the media on Friday, Switzer went into detail about just how jam-packed the schedule of Jedd Fisch's coaching staff is every day.

"Before practice, we'll have your special teams staff meeting, we'll have a full staff meeting. As an individual coach, you're getting your stuff ready for the morning meetings, the cards for practice, the practice plan, individual plan. Following that, we'll have a team meeting. We'll go offensive, defensive meetings, we'll go special teams meetings again with the players," Switzer said.

"We go out on the field. After we get off the field, we'll then take a quick shower. We're right upstairs for a staff meeting; we start watching the film as a full staff, offense and defense together. Coach Fisch will take us through it. We'll go straight to special teams meeting in the afternoon: full team meeting, offensive, defensive meetings, offense meet, defense lift, defense meet, offense lift, and then we'll do a walkthrough after the walkthrough. We've got quick dinner and a staff meeting, usually at, like, 8:45 or 9:00, and then you're doing stuff after that to get ready for everything else. So that's kind of the day for a coach."

All in a day's work.
