It doesn’t matter which league you are in; LSU head coach Lane Kiffin will strike wherever an opportunity presents itself. Following the landmark ruling allowing Cleveland Browns rookie Dae’Quan Wright to return to college, he might reunite with LSU head coach Lane Kiffin. That didn’t sit well with former program star Breiden Fehoko.

“I am an LSU guy and I have absolutely no respect for this bulls—,” Fehoko, part of the glorious 2019 LSU National Championship-winning team, wrote on X. “This is just straight up b—- made s—. What are we doing???”

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have waived tight end Dae’Quan Wright. If he clears waivers, he already has an agreement in place for the 2026 season to play for LSU, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.

Fehoko is not the only one who’s surprised at the turn of events.

Lane Kiffin keeps making bold moves at LSU, and the college football world is watching closely. Subscribe for more interesting stories.

“Man, ain’t that s*** crazy?” Cleveland head coach Todd Monken told reporters. “I wondered why Lane Kiffin reached out a week ago. I didn’t know, now I know. I didn’t call him back, I guess now I should’ve.”

Wright will might create history as the first NFL player to return to college. While it is definitely an advantage for the tight end, it is drawing a lot of criticism to college football and the issue of eligibility. Wright will have to repay the $25,000 signing bonus, though, as he is mandated to return the payments to his team before returning to college. But at the end of the day, he gets a chance to up his draft stock for 2027.

Wright went undrafted this year and signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles before being waived by them; he was claimed by the Browns off waivers. However, the tight end was absent from training camp recently. The Browns also gave him a chance to suit up for the Bills on August 22, even after he entered the NCAA transfer portal. He didn’t get to log a snap, unfortunately.

Dae’Quan Wright hauled in more than 1,000 receiving yards over the last two seasons while playing at Ole Miss, where Kiffin was formerly the head coach. During his final season with the Rebels, he contributed to their CFP run with a touchdown against South Carolina in SEC play and another against Miami in the semifinal.

It was later reported that Kiffin had reached out to him. If signed by the Tigers, Wright could have a great season catching passes for quarterback Sam Leavitt. Since he was hired as head coach, Kiffin has worked relentlessly to put together a strong team.

No matter how favorable it will be for Wright to start all over again, being an LSU alum, Fehoko took a firm stand, calling out the decision.
