Kansas State Football Adds Tight End To 2026 Roster

Tight end Elias Wilson was supposed to be a member of the 2027 recruiting class for the Kansas State Wildcats.
Instead, he will arrive a year earlier.
Wilson announced he was reclassifying so he can play for the Wildcats this season. He is expected to arrive on campus this week.
"I'm super excited for this next chapter," Wilson posted on his social media account on X. "EMAW!"
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Wilson is from Denmark. He is known for his athletic ability, possessing a 37-inch vertical leap. He had an impressive showing on the summer camp circuit, especially at Florida State. He drew raves from many of the scouting services in attendance.
Wilson joins a solid group of tight ends that includes seven players. Senior Garrett Oakley is expected to land the starting spots, with five-star recruit Linkon Cure as the backup. Both should be primary targets for quarterback Avery Johnson, who is back for his third season as the full-time starter.
The Wildcats are in their first year under coach Collin Klein. After going 6-6 last season, they were picked to finish eighth in the Big 12 conference by league media.
They open the season Sept 5., against Nicholls at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
CAN MANNING BE THE X-FACTOR?
Johnson and running back Joe Jackson have been the most discussed Kansas State Wildcats football players in the media this offseason.
They were the two offensive players to represent the program last month at Media Days in Frisco, Texas. They are the ones on everyone's minds. A close third, perhaps, is probably tight end Linkon Cure, who many are hoping to have a breakout after an injury-filled freshman season.
In reality, the Wildcats most important player on offense could be receiver Joshua Manning. After transferring from the Missouri Tigers, he has a chance to become the X-Factor this season.
