Lane Kiffin's son, Knox Kiffin, leads Oxford to MHSAA football playoffs second-round win

OXFORD — Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin‘s son Knox Kiffin, a sophomore quarterback, led Oxford High School deeper into the MHSAA Class 7A playoffs on Nov. 21.

Oxford beat Horn Lake 37-27 in the second round of the playoffs. With the win, the Chargers (11-1) advance to face Tupelo (12-1) in the North Half game on Nov. 28.

Knox Kiffin was 12-for-20 for 207 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Lane Kiffin is at the center of the college football world. Both LSU and Florida are aiming to hire Kiffin away from the Rebels.

Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter met Nov. 21 about Kiffin’s future. Carter sent a press release later in the day saying to expect an announcement about Kiffin’s future the day after the Egg Bowl.

No. 6 Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1 SEC) faces Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6) in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 28 (11 a.m. CT, ABC).
