Texas A&M’s Mario Craver Named One of College Football’s Top 100 Players

Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver enters the 2026 season with plenty of expectations, and ESPN has added to the hype by placing the Aggies standout among its top 100 players in college football.

Craver landed at No. 86 on ESPN’s preseason rankings, making him the lone Texas A&M player included on the list. The recognition comes after a breakout first season in College Station that established Craver as one of the most dangerous playmakers in the SEC.

"Just check the tape from the Notre Dame game — in which he had more than 200 yards receiving — for what he can do with the ball in his hands," Andrea Adelson writes. "With Marcel Reed and a veteran receiver group returning, expectations are high for the Aggies to return to the CFP."

After transferring from Mississippi State, Craver immediately became a major part of Texas A&M's offense in 2025. He finished second on the team with 59 receptions for 917 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 15.5 yards per catch.

Craver's explosive ability was already evident during his time at Mississippi State, where he averaged more than 21 yards per reception as a freshman. But he continued to show that with a larger volume in his very first year with a brand new offense.

Now, Craver is stepping into an even larger role for the Aggies. With KC Concepcion departing for the NFL, Texas A&M will need Craver to become a consistent centerpiece of the passing attack alongside quarterback Marcel Reed.

The No. 86 ranking also gives Craver an opportunity to climb considerably higher. He already showed in 2025 that he can produce explosive plays against quality competition. If he can pair that big-play ability with greater consistency throughout an entire season, his stock could rise quickly.

For Texas A&M, Craver's emergence provides one of the biggest reasons for optimism entering 2026. The Aggies have lost significant production from last year's team, but a healthy and more experienced Craver gives Reed a proven weapon capable of changing games in an instant.

ESPN's ranking suggests the national spotlight is firmly on him. Now Craver will have the chance to prove he belongs even higher.
