So, I already ranked the teams, 1 to 40.

How am a feeling about the conferences? There are 10 playing in the Football Bowl Subdivision. As the season approaches, here is my list — in reverse order of course.

If you think I've lost my marbles with the order, let me have it at . Remember, I'm sensitive so please no digital booing if that is a thing.

9. MAC 13 teams

Western Michigan

— In a close call over Miami (Ohio). The Broncos won 10 games in 2025 with Lance Taylor running the show. A victory in the Myrtle Beach Bowl pushed Taylor one game above .500 entering his fourth season in Kalamazoo.

— The run-heavy MAC champions welcome back seven starters on offense, led by the league's Offensive Player of the Year. quarterback Broc Lowry. He ran for more touchdowns (14) than he threw for (nine). He fell just short of a 1,000 yards on the ground. Three starters back in the line will again plow the way.

Jalen Buckley will look for another 1,000-yard season at tailback. He added nine touchdowns.

— No shock, the noncon schedule is a challenge with the Broncos opening at Michigan and hosting forever-power Boise State.

Miami (Ohio) at Western Michigan, Nov. 24.

In the "we will play any time" MAC, the game is on a Tuesday. And could decide who plays for the league title. The teas split a pair of games in 2025, with the Broncos taking the MAC championship game.
