UPDATE: It was reported that Howard's injury was a head injury.

With the preseason in the book, the Pittsburgh Steelers must now quickly turn around and trim their roster down to 53 by Sunday night. One of the biggest decisions the team has to make is how many quarterbacks to keep on the regular-season roster. One of those quarterbacks in the running is second-year signal caller Will Howard.

After Thursday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, it was reported that Howard was being evaluated for some unknown injury he suffered during the game. Howard is currently competing with rookie Drew Allar for the team's No. 3 spot, possibly the starting quarterback of the future and make the case to keep all four current quarterbacks.

We've said since the beginning of training camp that it wouldn't shock us if the Steelers stashed away one of the quarterbacks not named Aaron Rodgers away on IR to keep them in the fold and have the ability to bring them back if necessary. This Howard injury might make that decision easier. Howard took several big hits on Thursday at the hands of the Bills' defense.
