Titans' Robert Saleh describes hit on Wan'Dale Robinson: 'Cheap'

The Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears got together for a physical practice to close out training camp, and tempers flared when former Titans safety Xavier Woods lowered the boom on wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, sending him into the locker room.

Multiple reports on social media point out that Woods's hit came late after an incompletion and likely could have been avoided. But the hit did spawn some pushing and shoving between the two sides, with Austin Schlottmann, Chimere Dike, and Elic Ayomanor leading the fracas.

After practice, when asked about Robinson, head coach Robert Saleh gave an update on his condition and offered an opinion on the hit.

“We’re checking Wan’Dale for a concussion,” Saleh said when asked about Robinson, and followed that by calling Woods’ hit “cheap!”

This is always the fear in joint practices and preseason games, watching starters get injured in meaningless competition. The Titans have been quite lucky compared to other NFL franchises during the preseason, and hopefully Robinson will be ready to go for the season opener against the New York Jets.
