Iowa State football lands No. 1 in-state 2027 recruit Will Slagle

Iowa State football kicked off its 2027 recruiting class in style, with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Will Slagle.
Slagle is the Cyclones' first commit for the 2027 class. He announced his decision during a tailgate leading into the Iowa State vs Kansas senior day game on Nov. 22.
The Grinnell native chose Iowa State over Auburn, Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern and Stanford.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound lineman is the No. 1 overall in-state prospect in his class. He is also a top 10-ranked interior lineman nationally, according to 247 Sports.
Slagle has several ties to Iowa State, including his father, Don, and his uncle, Dean, who both played for the Cyclones.
