The Houston Texans are back in action for the start of the final preseason game of the season against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte.

Teams will often go 3-0, feel as if they've turned the corner, and then finish with a losing record. The same goes for teams that drop the first two matchups against playoff contenders but then make a run toward the Super Bowl.

For Houston, everything is about looking better than last week's results this Friday evening in the final preseason game at Bank of America Stadium.

Houston won't be at full strength. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans announced that starters wouldn't play, as would a majority of backups.

This is a game to find out the last 12 roster spots going into the new season. Can the Texans avoid an 0-3 record in the preseason?

The Texans and Panthers play Friday evening in Charlotte on ABC in the second preseason game. There will be a replay of the game later this week on NFL Network.
