Heading into the 2026 season, the Washington Huskies have a third Preseason True Freshman All-American ready to make an impact for Jedd Fisch's team this fall.

On Friday morning, 247Sports released its Preseason True Freshman All-America Team, which included left tackle Kodi Greene and cornerback Jeron Jones, just like on On3's list, but it also included defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa.

The former four-star in-state recruit from Kennedy Catholic High School arrived on campus as an edge rusher, but not long after his arrival, he shifted inside to defensive tackle. After a strong showing in both spring and fall camp while working with the first team defense, Colman-Brusa is expected to start Washington's season opener in the Apple Cup against the Washington State Cougars.

"I think we've got a really good offensive line, and the way they've been competing with those guys and the plays that they've been making, coupled with (the way) they fit the mold from a height, weight, measurable standpoint," defensive coordinator Ryan Walters said when asked about starting Colman-Brusa and fellow freshman Ramzak Fruean.

"Coupled out with just their maturity level, and the way they've handled what we've thrown out at them from an install standpoint and have put together consistent good days, and so I get this confidence moving forward."

In a rotation with fourth-year Elinneus Davis, transfers Darin Conley, Kai McClendon, and DeSean Watts, third-year Omar Khan, and his classmate TI Umu-Cais, the Huskies have a strong rotation around Colman-Brusa ahea of his first college season.
