Just seven minutes into his Seattle Seahawks career, cornerback Trevon Diggs plucked an interception in the team’s preseason Week 3 game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.

Watch right here:

As his tight hips yet huge explosive frame suggest he should've been all along, Diggs is playing post safety, NOT outside cornerback, where his career has seen extreme highs and lows. He was parked right on the hash in Mike Macdonald’s defense. That minimizes his deficiencies in man coverage by limiting the need for him to turn his hips, allowing him to sit and bait Chiefs rookie quarterback Garrett Nussmeier by reading his eyes until he makes a throw on a deep comeback route that Diggs is all over. Then, he breaks on a straight line, running all the way down the field with the ball and not stopping until he sees the end zone, which the Seahawks got an excessive celebration penalty for. Macdonald doesn’t mind this, though. The energy is translating to the offense, as Jalen Milroe led a scoring drive his second time out with the possession Diggs got him, and special teams, as Jason Myers kicked a 46-yard field goal to cap it off.
