Of the 91 players on the Green Bay Packers roster, roughly 40 percent will not be participating in Friday night's preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals. Matt LaFleur's team is sitting 37 players, including most expected starters and veterans.

This was planned after the Packers played most of the frontline players during the controlled environment of Wednesday's joint practice in Green Bay.

The following players did not suit up for the Packers in the preseason finale:

  • WR Matthew Golden
  • EDGE Micah Parsons
  • CB Brandon Cisse
  • S Javon Bullard
  • RB Josh Jacobs
  • WR Christian Watson
  • QB Jordan Love
  • WR Jayden Reed
  • CB Benjamin St-Juste
  • WR Skyy Moore
  • CB Carrington Valentine
  • CB Keisean Nixon
  • S Xavier McKinney
  • S Evan Williams
  • LS Matt Orzech
  • LB Zaire Franklin
  • EDGE Collin Oliver
  • OL Zach Bako-Bewele
  • LB Edgerrin Cooper
  • EDGE Brenton Cox Jr.
  • LB Isaiah McDuffie
  • G/C Jacob Monk
  • G Aaron Banks
  • C/G Sean Rhyan
  • T/G Jordan Morgan
  • TE Josh Whyle
  • WR Savion Williams
  • TE Thomas Yassmin
  • TE Tucker Kraft
  • TE Luke Musgrave
  • EDGE Lukas Van Ness
  • DT Warren Brinson
  • DT Karl Brooks
  • DT Devonte Wyatt
  • DT Jordon Riley
  • DT Javon Hargrave
  • EDGE Barryn Sorrell

The majority of the players not playing on Friday night can be lumped into two categories: injured, or a starter/roster lock.

Some interesting players not playing: rookie Brandon Cisse, who is a likely starter; receiver/returner Skyy Moore, who looks like a roster lock; and tight end Josh Whyle, who is currently Tucker Kraft's top backup.

One of the top players available on Friday night is receiver Bo Melton. Rookie Jager Burton is also active, and rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton is expected to make his preseason debut.

While 37 will sit, the remaining 54 players available for LaFleur's team against the Cardinals will get a chance to show they are worthy of sticking on the initial 53-man roster, which will be set by the Packers on Sunday afternoon.
