‘History Is About To Be Rewritten Negatively’ — Ex-LSU DT Blasts ‘Disgusting’ Tigers Fans Celebrating NFL Player Signings

College football has undergone another major shift as of late, with former players who entered the NFL Draft and even appeared for NFL teams in the preseason now attempting to return to the college ranks.

One team taking advantage of the changing landscape is LSU under first-year head coach Lane Kiffin. After his contentious departure from Ole Miss last season, Kiffin is looking to build a loaded roster in Baton Rouge.

Breiden Fehoko Takes Aim at LSU’s Roster Moves

As LSU continues to add players with NFL experience, Tigers fans have embraced the moves. The fan base is hoping that the additions can help LSU compete for an SEC championship and a national title this season.

The SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC all adopted rules this week intended to prevent former professionals from rejoining conference rosters. However, those restrictions immediately met legal resistance. A Texas judge temporarily blocked the SEC’s rule, and a Louisiana judge issued an amended order restoring eligibility for some athletes while preventing the league from punishing schools that recruit former professional hopefuls.

Breiden Fehoko, a former defensive tackle who won a national championship at LSU and played in the NFL, has criticized the program for pursuing ex-NFL players. He did not hold back when sharing his thoughts on the situation.

“LSU fans have been disgusting. History is about to be rewritten negatively and the amount of LSU fans justifying this is [expletive]. Block me, I don’t care,” Fehoko wrote on X. “This [expletive] ain’t right. Some people actually raised off good faith and morals. Nothing about this turns out good, watch.

“Thirty minutes ago I privately emailed representatives of the NCAA, SEC, and legislature,” he added in a follow-up post. “I stated the failure to uphold the integrity of football and define amateurism. I look forward to growing conversations and ending this nonsense. It’s time to end this BS.”

Zxavian Harris, who played at Ole Miss, was waived by the New Orleans Saints after suffering an injury. Following a court ruling that allowed him to receive a fifth year of college eligibility, Harris returned to the college ranks by signing with LSU. Dae’Quan Wright, another former Ole Miss player under Kiffin, was recently waived by the Cleveland Browns and also joined LSU.

Linebacker Jack Pyburn has also been linked to LSU, although he remains with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and it’s possible he’ll make their final 53-man roster after recording 4 sacks in the preseason. But if he does get cut, he’s expected to join the Tigers.

Kiffin has embraced an unconventional approach to roster building as LSU continues to add players with NFL experience. While the moves have generated excitement among Tigers fans, Fehoko believes the trend could have negative consequences.
