Washington Huskies Land Official Visit With 4-Star 2028 Recruit

The Washington Huskies football team will have several first-year players at starting positions for the team this season.

This follows the mantra that the coaching staff has followed since Jedd Fisch was hired as head coach ahead of the 2024 season: "the best players will play."

A large reason why this approach has been so successful, whether an upperclassmen or true freshman has started, has been due to the program's extended proficiency on the recruiting trail.

The 2026 recruiting class ranked 12th in the country, which is the highest ranking the program has received in its history. Included in that class is projected 2026 starters, edge rusher Ramzak Fruean, interior defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa and left tackle Kodi Greene.

The 2027 recruiting class is also in good shape, and currently ranks 24th in the country, per the 247Sports composite.

The Huskies are looking to continue their newfound recruiting ability for the Class of 2028 and are already projected to land five-star edge rusher Jalanie George.

In addition to George, Washington is also putting in a concerted effort to land other highly-touted recruits in the '28 cycle, including players native to the Pacific Northwest.

According to an article from Rivals.com reporter Brandon Huffman, four-star tight end Presley Delance has lined up his official visit schedule for the fall, which includes the Huskies.

The Lake Oswego High School (Ore.) student will be visiting the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 5, Washington on Sept. 6, the Auburn Tigers on Sept. 19, Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 26, Wisconsin Badgers on Oct. 3, Michigan Wolverines on Oct. 17, Utah Utes on Nov. 7 and Texas A&M Aggies on Nov. 14.

Delance's official visit to Montlake lines up with the Huskies season-opening Apple Cup showdown against the Washington State Cougars, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. PT.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end is ranked as the 220-best player in the nation, the 10th-best tight end available and the best player in Oregon, per the 247Sports composite.

Rivals' Industry Rankings has Delance ranked as the 237th-best overall player, 10th-best tight end and best player in Oregon.

Currently, On3 Sports' prediction model has the Ducks as the leaders to land Delance, with a 36% chance at a commitment. The Florida Gators, who didn't land an official visit but will play Auburn when the four-star recruit makes his official visit, have the second-likeliest odds at 31.5%. Washington has the third-best odds at 4.5%, which will make the Apple Cup even more important towards making a strong impression on the high school junior.
