OPENING ODDS: Notre Dame is a very healthy favorite over Wisconsin

We started seeing odds for Notre Dame’s season opener against the Wisconsin Badgers way back in January. The Irish were a big favorite back then, and they remain a big favorite now during game week.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Notre Dame is a 20.5 point favorite over Wisconsin with an over/under of 47.5 points.

This is, of course, a Shamrock Series game for Notre Dame as it’s being held inside Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Badgers should still be well represented at the game, and I would bet it looks and feels more like a bowl game than a normal Notre Dame neutral site game.

Despite this massive spread, it would be silly to not consider this game to be a great challenge for the Irish. Marcus Freeman has been adamant about Notre Dame’s need to start the season fast as the month of September has been a stumbling block for this program under him.
