Wisconsin football delivered its second signature victory in three weeks on Saturday night, as it defeated No. 21 Illinois 27-10.

The game was the Badgers' most complete of the season to date, at least against a Power Four opponent. The team held Illinois to 10 points, 298 total yards of offense and just 50 rushing yards (1.7 yards per carry). On the other side of the football, Wisconsin's long-struggling offense surpassed 14 points for the first time since Week 2, doing so in statement fashion. It closed with 27 points and 301 total yards, 209 of which came on the ground.

Running back Darrion Dupree led the way for the Badgers offensively, taking 17 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns. His 84-yard touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the game's decisive blow. Outside linebacker Darryl Peterson leads the headlines defensively. On his senior night, the veteran tallied six total tackles, three sacks and two pass deflections.

The Badgers improve to 4-7 with the important triumph. The program has built significant momentum since Chris McIntosh announced that Luke Fickell would return for the 2026 season, first by defeating a ranked Washington team, then with Saturday's statement win over Illinois.

Wisconsin closes its season next Saturday on the road at Minnesota.
