There isn’t nearly as much hype surrounding Colorado and Deion Sanders as there was a few years ago.

Maybe that’s exactly what this program needs.

Colorado is coming off a disastrous 3-9 season, and Sanders enters Year 4 needing to prove he can build something sustainable without Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

The Buffaloes now belong to sophomore quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, while Brennan Marion takes over the offense and brings his fast-paced system to Boulder.

We’ll find out pretty quickly whether it works.

Georgia Tech has quarterback questions of its own after losing Haynes King. Indiana transfer Alberto Mendoza takes over an offense that should still be capable of causing Colorado plenty of problems, particularly on the ground.

That’s where this matchup could be decided.

Colorado struggled badly stopping the run last season, and Georgia Tech shouldn’t be afraid to test that defense immediately.

Lewis has enough talent to keep Colorado competitive, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Buffaloes hit a couple of explosive plays through the air.

But until Colorado proves it can consistently stop people and win games like this on the road, I’m not buying in.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 31, Colorado 23
