Florida State had a great month of June when it came to landing recruits in the 2027 cycle. They got eight commitments in total, and things were pointing to them getting a pledge from three-star running back Marquis Fennell.

The Seminoles had the only prediction to get him. However, in a shocking twist, Fennell committed to the Stanford Cardinal. However, that hasn't stopped FSU from pursuing him at all.

"They're trying a little bit," Fennell told Brendan Sonnone of 247Sports.

Fennell is the No. 749 recruit and the No. 57 running back in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Georgia, he's ranked as the No. 89 player.

Florida State has four-star Jayden Miles committed at the running back spot in their 2027 class. The appeal of Fennell can't be denied, though, as he's a dual-threat type of player. He logged 1,480 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns as well as 764 receiving yards and 10 scores on 53 receptions as a junior.

Fennell has been electric once again as a senior in his first two games. He's gained 150 yards and registered one touchdown on the ground. He's been even better as a receiver out of the backfield with 17 receptions for 233 yards and four touchdowns.

The Seminoles were trying to get Fennell on campus last weekend for their first game, but it fell through. They'll certainly look to add him to their visitors list at some point later in the season.
