LSU football did not receive any votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll for a third straight week. The Tigers beat Western Kentucky in Week 13, but the offense was sloppy and the final was 13-10, much closer than the betting spread suggested.
LSU is 7-4. The Tigers ranked top-five early in the year, peaking after a Week 1 win over Clemson. But LSU's season went off the rails in October. A team that hoped to compete for a national title fell flat when SEC play began. After LSU dropped three of four and fell to 5-3, the Tigers fired head coach Brian Kelly.
LSU has one game left on the regular schedule and its a tough one. LSU travels to face No. 8 Oklahoma in Week 14. The Sooners can esentially clinch a playoff spot with a win — LSU hopes to play the role of spoiler.
Despite the disappointing year, with seven wins, LSU is sure to finish with a winning record. A complete look at the latest US LBM Coaches Poll is below.
Ohio State sits atop the poll, with Indiana coming in at No. 2. Texas A&M, ranked No. 3, is the top SEC team in the rankings.
