Michigan State football teases return of fan favorite entrance song

The 2013-14 college football season was a special one for Michigan State football. In full transparency, I was a student at MSU at the time. It was the year the team won the Big Ten Championship over Ohio State, and made it to the Rose Bowl – and won it. One thing I can tell you about that year on campus is that everywhere you went, Type of Way by Rich Homie Quan was playing. The song became the unofficial theme song of the Spartans that season, and it seems like the team is ready to finally bring it back, based on a tease we got on Thursday night.

The song was famously played in the locker room after every win that season, of which there were 13 in total, and the Spartans actually flew Rich Homie Quan out to their Rose Bowl game against Stanford. Tragically, in 2024, Rich Homie Quan died at the age of 34.

It would go a long way for Michigan State fans to bring this song back under the new regime, and if the video teaser below is any indication, you can expect to hear that song tomorrow:

It should be noted that new Michigan State defensive coordinator Max Bullough was part of that 2013-14 Rose Bowl team that was associated with the song, although he was famously suspended for the Rose Bowl game.
