Colorado has been subject to continued public scrutiny with Deion Sanders running the program, and Thursday night the Buffaloes proved there's substance to go along with their style. Sanders' squad pulled off an upset win over Georgia Tech thanks to a walk-off blocked field goal, starting the 2026 season on the right note.

A popular offseason narrative surrounding Colorado was it didn't have enough size, particularly on the offensive and defensive lines. Well, the Buffaloes proceeded to rush for 183 yards compared to Georgia Tech's 51, giving up only one sack while the Yellow Jackets allowed three. It was a domination on both ends of the line of scrimmage, and Sanders made sure to remind the doubters about it.

"We rushed for (183 yards), my God," Sanders said postgame. "They rushed for 51.

"I thought we were small."

A well-executed clap back from Coach Prime.

Sanders can talk his talk all he wants if Colorado keeps playing as physical as it did Thursday. Next up for the Buffaloes is FCS Weber State, so the Buffaloes will have an even bigger advantage in the trenches.
