Tulane RB Jamauri McClure out for matchup against Duke

Tulane will be without running back Jamauri McClure for the season-opening matchup against Duke on Saturday in Wallace Wade Stadium, according to Pete Thamel.

The redshirt sophomore and preseason All-AAC pick, listed as the first running back on Tulane’s depth chart but not officially named as the starter, injured his foot in practice this week.

Last year with the Green Wave, who won the American Athletic Conference and made the College Football Playoff, McClure rushed for 540 yards and two touchdowns on 83 carries, trailing just quarterback Jake Retzlaff in the rushing yards category. 

The Goshen, Ala., native is expected to share time in the backfield with Maurice Turner and Johnnie Daniels in Will Hall’s first season as Tulane’s head coach.

Duke and Tulane kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, on the ACC Network.
