Watch Lainey Wilson swoon LSU football crowd on ESPN ‘College GameDay’

Country singer Lainey Wilson was the College GameDay celebrity guest picker at LSU in Week 1. She opened the show with a live cover of Big & Rich’s “Comin’ to Your City” and later performed her 2026 single “Can’t Sit Still.”

Wilson, 34, grew up in Louisiana before moving to Nashville after high school. She is married to former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges. Hodges, also from Louisiana, won duck calling championships when he was younger which means they both have legitimate football and Southern credentials.

Wilson appeared on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week to promote her appearance.

“First of all, I’m just fired up to go back home. That I cannot tell you the amount of fun that I have had at LSU football games. So we are planning on just letting it all hang out because that’s what Louisiana folks like to do. So I’m just fired up. I mean, it’s a good time of year.”

She also took the opportunity to compliment McAfee on his new album, which would not be played on GameDay this week.

Lainey Wilson covers College GameDay theme song

Wilson sang the live version of the show’s theme song with the backing of the LSU marching band. She was wearing sparkly purple and gold tiger print with a matching hat.

Wilson returned later in the show to perform Can’t Sit Still, which peaked at 82 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year. Wilson has won one Grammy and a number of Country Music Association awards since she released her first album in 2014.
