See QB Faizon Brandon throw first Tennessee football touchdown pass vs Furman

The Faizon Brandon era for Tennessee football is officially underway.

The five-star freshman quarterback recorded his first career touchdown pass on his first drive, connecting with tight end Ethan Davis for a 17-yard score at 10:42 mark of the first quarter to give UT a 7-0 lead over Furman on Sept. 5 at Neyland Stadium.

Brandon completed four of five pass attempts for 43 yards, and added a 12-yard rush, on the first drive of his college career.

Brandon, ranked the No. 3 recruit in the class of 2026, beat out sophomore George MacIntyre during preseason practices to win the Vols' starting quarterback job. UT coach Josh Heupel named Brandon the starter on Aug. 25, making him the 14th true freshman to start at quarterback in program history and the youngest to ever do it.
