No. 2 Oregon is on upset watch at home against Boise State in Week 1.
The Broncos lead 17-14 just before halftime on the road at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, thanks to a pair of touchdown passes from veteran quarterback Maddux Madsen. Ducks receiver Evan Stewart muffed a punt in the second quarter that led to a 38-yard touchdown pass from Madsen to Sire Gaines in a potential game-shifting sequence.
Oregon, which fell to eventual national champion Indiana last season in the College Football Playoff semifinals, returned star quarterback Dante Moore this season and boasts one of the most-talented rosters on paper in college football. Boise State, meanwhile, has played spoiler before against the Ducks, actually leading the all-time series 3-1.
Boise State is a CFP contender among non-Power Four teams, but a loss to the Broncos would result in Oregon having little room for error once Big Ten play rolls around.

Oregon record vs Boise State
Oregon actually has a losing record against Boise State in the two teams' all-time history, with Boise State leading the series 3-1. The Ducks' lone win over the Broncos came in 2024, when Oregon won 37-34 despite eventual Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty rushing for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

Thanks to a strong defensive stand by the Ducks, Oregon forces a Broncos punt from their own end zone end gets the ball at the Boise State 44-yard line. Four plays and a 27-yard touchdown pass later, and Oregon has cut into the lead, 17-14.
