The Michigan Wolverines barely beat Western Michigan on Saturday night, winning via a Hail Mary 13-12. Michigan’s lackluster showing has influenced betting odds a bit for their next tilt against Oklahoma.

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Michigan is currently a 5.5-point underdog against Oklahoma, with the over/under set at 43.5 points.

Oklahoma looks a lot more dangerous than Michigan after one week of action — they beat UTEP 51-0, and quarterback John Mateer was 11-of-17 for 225 yards with three touchdowns.

Oklahoma beat Michigan last season 24-13 at Memorial Stadium in Norman. It’ll be a tougher environment for the Sooners at Michigan Stadium, but if Michigan doesn’t improve in a hurry offensively, there won’t be much home-field advantage to be had.

ESPN analytics views this matchup as a toss-up, giving Oklahoma a 51.1% chance of victory.

It’s surprising the spread isn’t higher than 5.5 given how bad Michigan’s offense looked and how cohesive Oklahoma looked in all phases. What are your thoughts about the spread? Let us know in the comments.
