The Washington Huskies hosted over three dozen recruits on unofficial visits during the Apple Cup against Washington State on Sunday, including three-star linebacker Julian Bruno.
UW was the first of eight game-day visits for the 6-foot-1, 200-pound defender from Grant Union High School in Sacramento, California.
Following his trip to Seattle, he's also slated visit USC (September 26 vs Oregon), Arizona State (October 10 vs Hawaii), Southern Methodist (Oct. 24 vs California), Notre Dame (November 7 vs Miami), Arizona (Nov. 14 vs Utah), Michigan (Nov. 21 vs UCLA) and Stanford (Nov. 28 vs SMU), according to a report from 247Sports.
Bruno holds 22 offers, and more are expected to come this fall with a strong junior season. As a sophomore, the talented Northern California defender dominated opposing offenses, recording 109 tackles, 14 for loss, and 3.5 sacks over 12 games, improving on all three categories from his freshman year and offering even more optimism that he'll continue to improve over the next two years.
On tape, the coveted junior shows the ability to play both inside and outside linebacker and draws comparisons to Xe'ree Alexander with the presence to be the quarterback of the defense. Inside linebackers coach Brian Odom was one of several coaches to see Bruno's talent up close this summer and offered him on the same day as Stanford, SMU, Syracuse, and USC.
The Huskies have offered several linebackers in the 2028 class and remain high on several at the position, some of which will be on campus this weekend alongside Bruno. With a strong defensive showing from second-year coordinator Ryan Walters and his staff, the Apple Cup could prove to be the foundation of UW's future in the Big Ten.
