Tyrese Gibson won’t face charges after his dogs killed a neighbor’s pet

Gibson’s attorney says the actor completed a pretrial diversion program and welcomed the state’s decision to dismiss the case.
Nearly a year after Tyrese Gibson’s dogs were accused of fatally attacking a neighbor’s pet, the actor is no longer facing criminal charges in connection with the incident.
Gibson’s attorney, Gabe Banks, confirmed that all charges against the actor have been dismissed. According to WSB-TV, Gibson completed a pretrial diversion program before the case was dropped.
Gibson had been charged with animal cruelty, dog-at-large and nuisance offenses following the September 2025 death of a neighbor’s 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry.
“Tyrese welcomes the State’s dismissal of the charges and is grateful to his family, friends, and fans for their unwavering support throughout this process,” Banks said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “As he moves forward, Tyrese remains focused on his work, his family, and continuing to show love and support to his community.”
The incident happened Sept. 18, 2025, when Henry’s owner, Harrison Parker, found the dog dead in his yard. Authorities alleged that Gibson’s four Cane Corsos had gotten loose and attacked the smaller dog. Police said the dogs had also been reported running loose in the neighborhood multiple times before the attack.
Doorbell camera footage released by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office showed multiple Cane Corsos roaming in a neighbor’s yard shortly before the attack, according to CBS Atlanta.
Gibson was not home when the incident occurred. He later turned himself in to authorities and was released on a $20,000 surety bond.
In the days following the attack, Gibson expressed sympathy for Henry’s family and said the incident had left him “shocked, devastated, and heartbroken.”
“As an empath, my heart hurts deeply for their unimaginable loss,” Gibson wrote at the time, according to CBS Atlanta.
Through Banks, Gibson also said he had made the “difficult decision” to rehome the dogs following the incident.
“Mr. Tyrese Gibson extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident,” Banks said in a statement.
With the criminal case now dismissed, Gibson’s attorney said the actor is focused on his work, family and community.
