New video shows Michigan’s controversial Hail Mary was as close as it gets

We're closing in on a week since college football's big Week 1 controversy between Western Michigan and Michigan. In that time we've seen statements from the Big Ten and NBC and even the MAC has formally appealed the results of Michigan's stunning last-second comeback.

There have also been multiple attempts to dissect and break down the footage from Saturday night's wild ending, with each one seeming to confirm that the in-game stadium clock actually did show one second remaining and the officials got the call right. Another video surfaced on Wednesday, this time from Michigan football stadium announcer Zach Linfield, captures the other end of the stadium looking down the field at Bryce Underwood's first Hail Mary.

While the video was captured from far away and isn't the most clear, it does seem to line up with the other videos that show one second remaining on the clock when the Western Michigan defender touches the ball in the end zone. Even more heartbreaking is it seems as if the touch happens mere milliseconds before the clock hits zero, making it as close of a play as possible.

The clock seemingly being that close to zero is yet another brutal punch to Western Michigan after everything that's happened these last few days. At least we're nearly at the start of another week in college football and eventually this story will die down for good.
