Kentucky head coach Will Stein wants a raucous home atmosphere against Alabama

Kentucky will play its biggest game of the 2026 college football season to date on Saturday.

The Wildcats will host the No. 12 Alabama Crimson Tide for its first SEC game of the year, and head coach Will Stein wants an unbelievable atmosphere for it.

He wants fans in the stadium early and wants it to be the loudest game in program history.

“This is our first SEC game at home here in Kroger Field. Really excited about Big Blue Nation. We have to make this the loudest game in the history of Kentucky football,” Stein said, via KSR Radio. “That’s my goal for our fans: the loudest it has ever been, and we need them to be at their best. Like, I want people in the stands for pregame. Let’s have 65,000 watching us warm up. I know I love the tailgate too, but get in there, be loud, make it disruptive for them as they get here, and then, for sure, when the ball is kicked, everybody in their seats cheering as loud as they humanly can. I want people’s voices hoarse when they leave here. They got to take off work on Monday because they can’t talk. That’s how loud I want this place to be.”

He later added that he wants fans to “sneak a flask in” and do “whatever you have to do.” He wants a true home advantage for this game.

Time will tell whether fans heed Stein’s advice for Saturday’s game. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
