McKenzie Milton's name is now immortalized in UCF Knights' history as part of their 2026 Hall of Fame class.
Milton is the second football Hall of Famer in this year's class, joining former coach Mike Kruczek, who led the program throughout its rise as an FBS school from 1985 to 2003.
He is the centerpiece of UCF's most successful period in the late 2010s, helping forge it into an American Athletic Conference powerhouse team and one of the best college offenses. The Knights became a top-15 nationally ranked team with Milton at the helm and recorded back-to-back undefeated regular seasons in 2017 and 2018.
A career year for the Kapolei, Hawaii, native in 2017 helped crown the Knights as national champions via the Colley Matrix despite missing the College Football Playoff. Milton threw for 4,037 yards, 37 touchdowns and nine interceptions, including 613 yards and eight touchdowns on 106 carries.
The Knights legend had some of his best career performances in high-stakes games against former AAC rival Memphis and then-No. 7 Auburn in the 2018 Chick-fil-A Bowl.
UCF faced Memphis in the AAC Championship game, and it was a high-octane shootout between both teams. The Knights prevailed 62-55, and Milton heroically gave his team the push they needed to win, throwing for 494 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, including 68 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries, before the defense secured a game-sealing interception and they were crowned conference champions.
Milton led No. 12 UCF over Auburn, throwing for 242 yards and two touchdowns, including a season-high 116 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. That upset solidified an undefeated season for the Knights and led to their self-crowning as national champions, as they were the only undefeated program that season.
He propelled his team to the highest stage it has yet to reach since his departure, and Milton returned several years later to give back to his alma mater.
Milton returned to UCF in December 2024 as the quarterbacks coach, reuniting with coach Scott Frost.
Together, they are attempting to bring the Knights back to the glory days they carved in the first place. Milton is coaching Alonza Barnett III, who has been tabbed to multiple watch lists, and wants to help the team win its first Big 12 championship.
He is playing a significant role in the program's future success after accomplishing historic feats in the late 2010s. His name is immortalized in UCF history while he actively helps Barnett prepare for a tough matchup against Pittsburgh on Saturday.
