After a statement win in Week 1 and off-field drama nearing its end, the LSU Tigers turn their attention to an in-state battle with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The Drama Finally Over?

It was announced earlier this week that there was going to be a vote this week among the SEC presidents to potentially expel LSU from the SEC. After a letter was sent from LSU to the SEC, that vote was cancelled. Then it was announced late Thursday night that LSU would likely face no sanctions from the drama. Now that the off-field stuff is in the rearview, LSU can build off its big Week 1 win against LA Tech while preparing for the battle with Ole Miss next week.

Have to Keep Tech Out of the Endzone:

While it might have been against a weak opponent in Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech put up 80 points against the Demons last week. So, it’s clear that their offense has some sense of firepower to it. For the Bayou Bandits, they will need to have a similar performance to that of the Clemson game and keep the offense out of the red zone as much as possible on Saturday night. LA Tech’s offense also provides a good prep for the Ole Miss game that is looming larger and larger by the day.

Leavitt needs to Be More Accurate:

There’s no doubt Sam Leavitt dominated the offense, earning SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. However, his passing game could have been stronger if I’m going to nitpick. There were multiple instances where he made some poor decisions in the passing game and was behind the receivers. He will need to be stronger down the stretch, and that starts Saturday night against LA Tech.
