Boston College linebacker Bodie Kahoun was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation after suffering a frightening injury during Friday night’s game against Rutgers at Alumni Stadium.
The incident occurred midway through the second quarter with the Eagles leading 17-0. Kahoun was involved in a tackle on Scarlet Knights running back Antwan Raymond, who gained six yards on the play. During the tackle, Kahoun’s head appeared to strike Raymond’s shoulder, and the linebacker immediately went to the ground.
Kahoun remained down for several minutes as Boston College’s medical staff attended to him. Trainers removed his jersey and shoulder pads and placed a neck brace on him before securing him to a board and transferring him onto a stretcher. The game was temporarily stopped while both teams gathered near midfield, with Boston College players kneeling and standing around Kahoun.

An ambulance then drove onto the field near the 50-yard line and transported Kahoun from Alumni Stadium. As he was loaded into the vehicle, Kahoun raised his arm and gave a thumbs-up to the crowd, prompting a loud ovation.
Boston College later provided an update at halftime, holding a 20-7 advantage, stating that Kahoun had movement in “all extremities” and was being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The injury came during an impressive performance from Kahoun, who was leading the Eagles with six tackles when he was injured, including five solo stops. The 6-foot-2 redshirt sophomore transferred to Boston College from Notre Dame this offseason after playing 12 games for the Fighting Irish from 2024 to 2025, primarily on special teams.
Kahoun made his first start for the Eagles against Cincinnati in Week 1 and finished with three tackles in a 34-15 road loss. He had replaced Zacari Thomas in the starting lineup for the Rutgers matchup.
Boston College also entered the game against the Scarlet Knights with several other players unavailable including wide receiver Jaedn Skeete, center Michael Crounse, defensive end Onye Nwosisi and running back Bo MacCormack III.
