Michigan football miraculously (and controversially) avoided what would have been a seismic Week 1 upset, with a Bryce Underwood Hail Mary in the final (and controversially added) second giving the Wolverines a 13-12 victory over Western Michigan.
Their next test figures to be just a little bit harder.

Coming off a 51-0 drubbing of UTEP last Saturday, No. 10 Oklahoma will head north to take on Michigan in a high-profile matchup between two historic powerhouses on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The contest is the second of a two-game, home-and-home series between the Wolverines and Sooners. Last season, Oklahoma defeated Michigan, 24-9, in Norman, Oklahoma on its way to an eventual berth in the College Football Playoff.
The Sooners figure to yet again provide a stiff challenge to a Wolverines offense that looked constipated against a smaller team from a smaller conference. Under coach Brent Venables, one of the top defensive minds in the sport, Oklahoma finished last season seventh in the FBS in scoring defense, giving up just 15.5 points per game. In the win against UTEP, it allowed just 198 total yards.
That unit will now get to face off against a quarterback, Bryce Underwood, who struggled against it last season in his second-career start. After an uneven freshman season, he only looked so much better in his first game as a sophomore. Before completing his game-winning, 47-yard heave, he was just 11 of 21 for just 123 yards (and 5.9 yards per attempt) and an interception while piloting an offense that had eight consecutive scoreless drives.
