Howard enters Saturday’s game at 1-1 after a 28-21 loss to Richmond. The Bison fell behind 20-0 before scoring all 21 of their points in the second half. Quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins threw for 109 yards and also helped lead the comeback on the ground, while Billy Roberson II rushed for 44 yards. Howard’s defense recorded four sacks and held Richmond to 113 total yards in the second half, but early mistakes were too much to overcome.
Indiana enters at 1-0 after beating North Texas 52-16 in its season opener. Quarterback Josh Hoover completed 13 of 16 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns in his Indiana debut. Turbo Richard rushed for two scores, while Charlie Becker caught two touchdown passes. The Hoosiers scored on seven of their eight offensive possessions and did not commit a turnover.
