Drew Mestemaker Reacts to Oklahoma State's Massive Upset of Oregon

The Oregon Ducks fell to the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday by a score of 39-31.

The loss for Oregon made some unfortunate history, with the No. 6-ranked Ducks going down to the unranked Cowboys. Oregon's defense couldn't stop Oklahoma State, with quarterback Drew Mestemaker doing pretty much whatever he wanted.

While the Ducks did grab two interceptions, Mestemaker looked comfortable for most of the game. The Cowboys' signal-caller threw for 317 yards with two touchdowns, while also rushing for 109 yards and one score.

Mestemaker was the driving force behind the massive upset for Oklahoma State, sending the Ducks back home on a sad note. After the game, Mestemaker was hyped up by the win, giving his thoughts on the moment.

"This is the best moment of my lfie, honestly. Not even close," Mestemaker said.

While Oklahoma State was excited from the big victory, the Ducks are now in some real trouble. After a major scare in Week 1 against Boise State, Oregon seems to have some problems that the team needs to address.

Once again, the Oregon defense was exposed, showing clear signs of weakness early in the year. Despite the Ducks entering the new college football season as title favorites, Oregon has looked anything but so far.

And yet, the Ducks still have everything in front of them, even with this loss to the Cowboys. Due to the strength of schedule that Oregon has remaining, the Ducks can look back on this game as an unfortunate blip in the year.

Oregon still has road games against the USC Trojans and Ohio State Buckeyes, both of which are top-ranked teams. If the Ducks were able to get wins in these contests, it could push them back to being viewed as a title contender.

The Ducks also have home games against the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies, giving them more to work with. But the Ducks no longer have any margin for error with multiple tough games left on the schedule.

If Oregon were to drop one more game, it would almost effectively end their chance to get into the College Football Playoff. And this isn't a situation that head coach Dan Lanning and company want to find themselves in.

However, it's now the team's new reality and one that they dug for themselves. Oregon still has a deep roster, but over the next week, the Ducks will need to do some soul searching to find the recipe to get back on track.
