Lane Kiffin has been making waves since taking over as LSU’s head coach and he appears determined to make his Tiger Stadium entrances part of the weekly entertainment.
Before No. 8 LSU hosted Louisiana Tech on Saturday night, Kiffin strutted through the Tiger Walk alongside rappers Lil Wayne and Boosie, plus LSU legend Tyrann Mathieu.
CFB Fans React to Lane Kiffin’s Star-Studded LSU Entrance
The scene immediately split college football fans, as some loved the spectacle and others rolled their eyes at the new era in Baton Rouge.
The moment fits the larger-than-life image that Kiffin has cultivated since taking over LSU. LSU legend Justin Jefferson is embracing Kiffin’svillain reputation, and the coach did little Saturday to make himself look less comfortable in that role.
One fan wrote, “Brian Kelly could never.”
Another fan added, “Man Lane Kiffin is different 😂😂💯.”
The Brian Kelly comparison was inevitable. Kelly’s LSU tenure ended mid-2025 season, while Kiffin opened his first campaign by leading the Tigers to a 51-10 rout of Clemson. One week later, he arrived at Louisiana Tech surrounded by two Louisiana rap icons.

Another fan wrote, “Lane kiffin got Boosie AND Wayne with him that’s crazy motion 🔥.”
Another fan declared, “LSU has aura again and it feels so right.”
Not everyone read the entrance as harmless fun. One userwrote bluntly, “This is why they hate Lane!”
“1 of 1 WEIRD,” another fan added.
Kiffin has been in the spotlight as of late thanks to weeks of controversy involving LSU, the SEC, and the Tigers’ pursuit of players who spent time with NFL teams.
Lane Kiffin Keeps Leaning into LSU’s New Identity
The celebrity-heavy walk was not even Kiffin’s first elaborate entrance at LSU. A week ago, he entered Tiger Stadium before the Clemson game with Livvy Dunne, Theo Von, and Brooks Nader.
Saturday’s version swapped in Lil Wayne and Boosie, two artists with deep Louisiana ties. Another fanjoked afterward, “5 didn’t wanna be apart of this lmao.”
The whole scene also fit the energy around a program that opened Kiffin’s first full season with a statement.

LSU jumped from No. 11 to No. 8 in the AP Poll after crushing Clemson, and the Tigers entered Saturday trying to move to 2-0 before a September 19 trip to Ole Miss.
