TENNESSEE VOLS FOOTBALL: Georgia Tech can't handle run game

DeSean Bishop rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns and Daune Morris added 98 yard and a 47-yard scoring burst to lead Tennessee to a 45-24 win over Georgia Tech Saturday night.

The Volunteers (2-0) were still very conservative with freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon. He threw for 148 yards and two scores, but only tried to go deep a couple of times.

Tennessee's defense came up with two interceptions — including a pick-six by Dejuan Lane. The Vols limited Georgia Tech to just 135 yards rushing and 221 passing. Yellow Jackets quarterback Alberto Mendoza was sacked four times, two of which were by Tennessee sophomore Mariyon Dye.
