Utah moves up in latest AP College Football Top 25 Poll

Utah came into Week 2 prepared for a brawl with the Arkansas Razorbacks. However, the first trip to Salt Lake City was disappointing for the SEC foe.

The Utes dominated the Hogs in a 43-10 blowout late Saturday night. Morgan Scalley and his staff executed an outstanding game plan with Devon Dampier and Wayshawn Parker leading the charge. They accounted for five touchdowns on the night. As a whole, Utah's offense racked up 442 yards of total offense.

Scalley's first win over an SEC opponent, pushing Utah up three spots to No. 17. The Utes are slowly creeping into the upper half of the rankings. They were outdone by two other Big 12 teams in the latest poll.

BYU got their first conference win of the season over Arizona on Saturday. The 28-17 win moved the Cougars to No. 11, overtaking Texas Tech, who fell to No. 13 after struggling to beat Oregon State. This was the first week Kalani Sitake's team moved up in the rankings this year.

BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier accounted for all four touchdowns, proving he's a consistent playmaker for the Cougars. In fact, he's the only FBS passer with a 188.4 pass efficiency, 69.6% completions, six passing TDs, no interceptions and two rushing touchdowns.

There's a good chance the Holy War between BYU and Utah will have major College Football Playoff implications.

While the national title picture got a major shake-up. Texas regained the top spot in the country. Arch Manning led the Longhorns to an improbable fourth quarter comeback to secure a 24-23 win over Ohio State. Oregon has struggled to start the season and it caught up with them. The Ducks were handed a Week 2 loss by Oklahoma State on the road. They fell 15 spots in the poll.
