USC freshman continue to be the reason 2026 Trojans are winning

A big talking point about the USC Trojans is their freshman class this season. In the offseason, USC had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. In three weeks, that class has revealed some players who are already among the best on the team. Game 3 definitely drove that point home.

My MVP for Game 3 is USC freshman Luke Wafle. He has continued to build confidence and meet expectations. On Saturday, he made a statement. Wafle had 7 total tackles; 6 of them were solo, and he had 1 tackle for a loss. His name was heard, and his presence was felt consistently. This was a huge game for him.

On the offensive end, multiple freshmen popped off for a big performance. To start the season, it hasn't been a Trojan game without Trent Mosley making his mark on the game. Mosley finished the game with 2 catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. Mosley lived up to the hype on special teams with an 83-yard punt return. He continues to show he is one of the best talents in college football. Hopefully, the injury he sustained during the game is as minor as can be.

Mark Bowman was the star freshman on offense, as he had 6 catches for 83 yards. This guy is dominant as a blocker, and in this game he did his best Trent Mosley impression, making electrifying highlight-reel plays himself. Bowman showed he himself is a weapon defenses need to worry about. Kayden Dixon-Wyatt also kept the momentum high after last week with 3 catches for 43 yards and a spectacular touchdown catch.

It is safe to say the Trojans freshmen have lived up to the hype. Not only that, but these guys are ready to be the reason that USC is in contention for a College Football Playoff berth and much more.
